Privacy notice
Sea Parrott Digital is the trading name of Christopher Parrott, a sole trader based in Royston, Hertfordshire, England. I'm the "data controller" for anything you send me through this site, which is a legal way of saying it's me, personally, who is responsible for it.
If you use the contact form, I get what you type into it: your name, your business name, your website and social media handle if you give them, your email address, and what you tell me is bugging you. That's it. I don't buy data, scrape it, or collect anything you haven't typed.
If we go on to work together, I also hold what the work needs: your contact details, the documents I prepare for you (reports, plans, terms, invoices), and a login for the client portal where you can see them.
To reply to you and, if you ask for one, to prepare your three free fixes or a health check. Legally this is "legitimate interest": you've contacted a business and expect a reply. Once we agree to work together, it becomes "performance of a contract", and that covers the client portal too.
I don't sell your details, share them with marketers, or add you to a mailing list. There isn't one.
Web3Forms (India, with servers in several regions) and Google (United States) are outside the UK. Those transfers rely on the safeguards in each provider's data processing terms, which commit them to protecting your details to the UK standard. The portal's data stays in London.
If we don't end up working together, I delete your enquiry within 12 months. If we do, I keep the records I need for the work and for my accounts. HMRC requires business records to be kept for six years after the tax year they relate to. Your portal account and documents stay available while you're a client, and I remove the account when you ask or when we stop working together.
This site doesn't set any. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, which works without cookies and without tracking you individually, so no consent banner is needed for it. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking pixels. If that ever changes, this page will say so and you'll be asked first.
The client portal keeps you signed in by storing a login token in your browser's local storage (not a cookie). It's needed for the portal to work, so no consent is required, and it's removed when you sign out.
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can also object to me using your details, ask me to restrict what I do with them, or ask for a copy in a portable format. Email hello@seaparrott.co.uk and I'll sort it within a month, usually much sooner. If you're not happy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
