Terms of service
How working together works.
Last updated: 9 October 2026
The short version
- The first look is free and comes with no obligation.
- The Snapshot and the Deep Dive are a fixed price, paid when you book, back within a week.
- Websites are half up front, half when the site is ready to launch. Two rounds of changes are included.
- A domain name and the first year of hosting are included in a build. You own your domain, your hosting, your content and your finished website.
- Care is month to month. Stop any time by email.
- I can't promise rankings or sales. I can promise honest work and a reply within a working day.
1. Who you're dealing with
Sea Parrott Digital is the trading name of Christopher Parrott, a sole trader based in Royston, Hertfordshire, England. "I", "me" and "my" in these terms mean him. "You" means the business that hires me.
These terms apply to everything I do for you. When we agree a piece of work, the quote or proposal I send you describes what's included and what it costs, and together with these terms that's our agreement. If the quote and these terms ever say different things, the quote wins for that piece of work.
My services are for businesses. If you're buying as a private individual, nothing here takes away the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
2. The free health check (the first look)
If you send me your website or social media through the form, I'll look at it and send you three things I'd fix first, in writing, within a few days. It's free, there's no obligation, and you can act on it with or without me.
It's a quick look, not a full audit. I give it in good faith based on what's publicly visible at the time, and I can't take responsibility for what happens if you act on it without me. I may decline a request if the site isn't something I can help with.
3. Paid health checks: the Snapshot and the Deep Dive
The Digital Snapshot (£185) is a written report on your website, your social media, or both: everything that's broken, missing or holding you back, ranked by what to fix first. The Deep Dive (£285) is the Snapshot plus a look at who's doing well in your niche and a 90 day plan of what to post, what to fix and what to leave alone.
- The price is fixed and paid when you book. I start once payment has cleared and I have whatever access I've asked for.
- You'll have the report within 7 days of that, as a document in your client portal and by email.
- If you cancel before I've started, I refund you in full. Once I've started, the fee is not refundable.
- If you go on to have me build a website within 6 months, the full price of the health check comes off the price of the build.
- The report is my honest professional opinion based on what I can see at the time. Acting on it is your decision, and I can't guarantee any particular result from doing so.
4. Websites
Before any build starts you get a written quote with a fixed price, what's included, and an estimated timeline.
- Paying. Half of the price is due up front to book the work in. The other half is due when the site is ready to launch. Once I've started work, the first half is not refundable: it pays for the work already done.
- Changes. Two rounds of changes to the design are included. You'll see the work every week, so there shouldn't be surprises. Changes beyond those two rounds, or anything outside the quote, are quoted separately before I do them.
- Timeline. The timeline in the quote is an honest estimate. It depends on you sending me what I need (text, photos, logins, approvals) when I need it. Delays on your side move the launch date.
- Going quiet. If I'm waiting on you for more than 30 days, I'll treat the project as paused. I can invoice for the work done so far, and we pick it back up when you're ready, subject to my availability.
- Launch. The site counts as ready to launch when it's built to the quote and I've asked you for the final approval. If I don't hear back within 14 days of that, the second half becomes due anyway.
- After launch. For 30 days after launch I fix anything that doesn't work as agreed, free. After that, fixes and changes are covered by Care, or quoted.
5. What you supply, and what I supply
- Unless the quote says otherwise, you supply the words, photos and logos, and the information about your business. I'll help you shape them.
- Anything you give me must be yours to use. That includes photos, text and anything taken from elsewhere. If someone else owns it, you need their permission.
- Where we agree to use stock or generated imagery, it's for scenery and mood, never to stand in for you, your staff, your premises or your work.
- A standard domain name (a normal .co.uk or .com, not a premium one) and the first year of hosting are included in the price of a build, and both are registered in your name. After the first year, renewals are paid by you directly to the providers; I'll tell you what they cost, and they're small. If you're on Care, your hosting and your domain renewal are covered for as long as you stay on it. Email and any paid tools the site needs aren't included unless the quote says so.
- What's on your site about your business is your responsibility: that it's accurate, legal, and that you have the right to say it.
6. Who owns what
- Your domain name, hosting account, email and content are yours from day one. They're registered in your name, not mine.
- Once the final payment has cleared, the finished website is yours. You can take it elsewhere, change it, or have someone else work on it.
- I keep the right to reuse the general know-how, techniques and reusable code I bring to every project. Nothing specific to your business is reused.
- Fonts, images and software from other people stay under their own licences, which I'll have chosen to allow your use.
7. Care and Care+
Care (£49 a month) covers your hosting, your domain renewal, up to 4 small updates a month, plus the maintenance that keeps a site healthy. Care+ (£99 a month) adds monthly search and AI-answer improvements and a short report on how the site is doing.
- It's paid monthly in advance. There's no minimum term.
- Stop any time by emailing me. It ends at the end of the month you've paid for, and there's no refund for the part of a month you don't use.
- Unused updates don't carry over. Bigger pieces of work are quoted separately.
- Hand-off is free. When Care ends, I'll make sure you have everything, and from then on keeping the site maintained is up to you or whoever you choose.
8. Paying me
- I invoice by email and you pay by bank transfer. Invoices for health checks are due when you book, website invoices as set out in section 4, and Care invoices monthly in advance.
- I'm not registered for VAT, so prices don't have VAT added. If that changes, I'll tell you before it affects anything you've agreed to.
- If an invoice is more than 14 days late, I may pause work until it's paid, and I may charge interest and compensation under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. I'd much rather you just told me if there's a problem.
9. Ending things
- You can stop a project at any time by email. You pay for the work done up to that point, as set out in sections 3 and 4, and you keep what's been made.
- I can stop a project if invoices go unpaid, if I'm asked to publish something illegal, misleading or harmful, or if the working relationship breaks down. I'll say why, and you keep what you've paid for.
10. Confidentiality and your data
- What I learn about your business while working with you stays between us, unless it's already public or you say otherwise.
- How I handle personal details is set out in my privacy notice.
- Your client portal login is for you. Keep it safe, and tell me if you think someone else has it.
- If your website or the systems I build collect your own customers' details (enquiries, bookings, invoices), you stay the data controller for them and I act as your processor: I handle that data only on your instructions and to do the work you've asked for, keep it confidential and secure, use only the providers named in your quote (your hosting, booking or invoicing services, for example), tell you if any of that changes, and delete it or hand it back when the work ends.
11. Showing the work
Unless you tell me otherwise, I may show the work I do for you as an example of what I do: on this site, in a case study, and as a small "Website by Sea Parrott Digital" link in your site's footer. I won't share anything confidential. If you'd rather I didn't, say so in writing at any time and I'll stop.
12. What I can't promise
- I can't guarantee search rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales. Nobody honestly can. What I can do is build it well, advise honestly, and show you what's happening.
- I'm not responsible for problems caused by services I don't control: your hosting company, your domain registrar, Google, Instagram, payment providers and the like.
- If something I've done goes wrong and it's my fault, what I owe you is capped at the amount you paid me for that piece of work (for Care, the amount paid in the previous 12 months). I'm not liable for indirect losses such as lost profit or lost business.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law doesn't allow to be limited.
13. The boring but necessary bits
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. Before it gets anywhere near that, we talk.
- I may update these terms. The version on this page when we agree a piece of work is the one that applies to it.
- Our agreement is between you and me. Neither of us can hand it to someone else without the other's agreement.
- If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
